The Academy of Athens is one of the most significant buildings of the city. Together with the National Library and the University, it forms part of the "Athenian Neoclassical Trilogy". The Academy was designed in 1859 by danish architect Theophil Hansen.
Our brief included the remodeling of selected support facilities with the addition of mezzanines levels. Only phase 1 of the project has been implemented to date.
The selection of materials, together with the maximum feasible use of old techniques in contemporary applications, eased the incorporation of the new works into the classical architecture of the building.
