Eleftheroudakis Bookstores, located on a pedestrian street in the centre of Greece's main port city, is one of the largest and oldest bookstore chains in Greece. The project consisted of the conversion of an existing two-level commercial facility into a functional and client-friendly bookstore.

The design gives emphasis on highlighting the primary circulation within the store. This is achieved through forms and also through a differentiation of material colours both on floors and ceilings. The lighting design follows the same principle with a combination of direct and indirect lighting.

The bookstore façade has been designed to allow visual penetration from the outside, while at the same time giving adequate space for the display of books. All interior wall decorative elements and furniture, including the front desk and the “vitrine” showcase, have been custom-designed for this store. Prominent upon entering the shop is a large vertical surface on which has been appended a wall-to-wall period photograph showing the firmΆs early beginnings in Athens, thus acting as a reminder of its history.
