VILLA IN VOULA

The plot for this three-level villa, situated in the up-market suburb of Voula, has views towards the Saronic bay and Ymitos mountain. These views, together with the slope of the site, governed the design and resulted in a split-level ground floor. The introduction of double volumes in part of the living areas allows for natural light to penetrate further inside them. Although all bedrooms have their own separate balconies, it is the semi-enclosed first floor patio which is the focal point of the family's private open-air activities at the bedroom level.

Landscaping is an integral part of the design, the swimming pool being its dominant element. The crescent-shape swimming pool takes advantage of the sloping site, being located half a level below the living areas thus ensuring that it is, functionally and visually, largely secluded. Open-air sitting areas with hard and soft floor materials and a combination of large lawns and planting, complete the landscaping. Covered pergolas provide the necessary protection from sun and summer drizzles.
